Based upon her own genealogical research (and her mother&#8217;s 1970s correspondence with another Macintosh descendant), Deirdre\u00a0has pointed me in the direction of William&#8217;s sister, Mary Macintosh (d. 1827). Mary <a href=\"https:\/\/archive.org\/stream\/fastiecclesiu07scotuoft#page\/n119\/mode\/2up\">is recorded<\/a> as having married Alexander Falconer (1730\u20131802), a minister at\u00a0Eddrachillis in Sutherland,\u00a0in 1764. Together they had 12 children\u2014William&#8217;s nephews and nieces.
